Age Limit
Candidates must be 35 to 62 years as on 01 January 2026.
Age proof certificate must be submitted along with the application.
Educational Qualification
Applicants should possess a Degree or Postgraduate Degree in any one of the following disciplines:
- Child Psychology
- Psychiatry
- Law
- Social Work
- Sociology
- Human Health
- Education
- Human Development
- Special Education for Differently Abled Children
Candidates who are practicing professionals in the above disciplines are also eligible.
Preference will be given to Postgraduate degree holders.
Experience
Candidates should have:
- At least 7 years of active experience in health, education, child welfare, child protection, or related activities concerning children.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Have no record of violation of Human Rights or Child Rights.
- Not have been convicted for any offence involving moral turpitude.
- Not have been removed or dismissed from Government service.
- Not have been involved in child abuse, child labour, or human rights violations.
- Belong to the district where the vacancy exists.
- Be free from any conflict of interest with NGOs or Child Care Institutions.
- Not hold any political office during the tenure.
- Not be insolvent.
- Not hold any full-time occupation that affects the responsibilities of the post.
Police Verification
Selected candidates must undergo Police Verification and submit the verification report within 15 days from the date of receiving the selection notification.
Remuneration
Chairpersons, Members and Social Workers will receive remuneration on a per sitting basis (minimum 6 hours per sitting) as per the Mission Vatsalya Guidelines.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of:
- Submission of Offline Application
- District Level Scrutiny Committee (DLSC) Scrutiny
- Preparation of Shortlist (1:3 Ratio)
- Final Viva-Voce by the State Level Selection Committee (SLSC)
- Police Verification
- Final Appointment

Office of the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) of the concerned district on or before 10 July 2026.

- Applicants must submit an affidavit in the prescribed format.
- The State Level Selection Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason.
